  • Mindfulness for children ages 12-16 Market Harborough

    Session Theme – Cultivating a sense of gratitude

    With the festive season nearly upon us, we will be looking at gratitude for all we have. Talk about the importance of gratitude and that the latest phone etc is not going to bring you happiness. Talk about things you are grateful for eg. Your family, food on the table, the sun shining.

    Congregational Church, Bowden Lane Market Harborough

    There will be a once monthly session on first Saturday of every month in Market Harborough

    Session times-

    9.30-10.30- ages 7-11

    10.45- 11.45 -ages 12-16

    12.00-1.00- parents

    The sessions will begin with a chat around the theme and meditation, we then do an activity (usually something to take home).

    This course will give children tips and techniques and how to lead a calmer life and deal with difficult and challenging emotions.

    The sessions are practical and fun and led by a qualified primary school teacher.

    Other sessions will include:

    Calming the mind

    Talking about the chattering mind of thoughts and how that makes you feel.

    Showing kindness to all

    Talk about the importance of kindness and compassion to all people even people we find difficult as all people ultimately want to be happy.

    Mindful movement and celebration

     Please note- the course is fully inclusive and suitable for all children. Children with ASD, ADHD and anxiety have all benefited greatly from the course.

    Booking and prior payment is essential as places are limited.

    If session does not go ahead due to low numbers, a full refund will be given.

  • This course is designed for anyone working with primary aged children. You will leave equipped with ideas to help of how to create a more harmonious and calming classroom and school.

    The 3 hour course covers:

    • An explanation of and the benefits of mindfulness
    • Looking at difficult parts of the school day and possible causes
    • Mindful strategies to cope with a child’s behaviour/mental health issues
    • Calm down strategies
    • Looking at and dealing with difficult emotions and feelings
    • Questions/discussion

    The course will be held at the Angel Hotel, 37 High Street, Market Harborough, Leicestershire, LE16 7AF- parking is available

    The sessions will be delivered by a qualified mindfulness teacher/primary school teacher
